Suited one-gapper
Seven-Five Suited
75s is a one-gapper with better straight coverage than 53s, 63s, or 74s. It remains speculative, but it can make a straight directly on 6-8-9 boards and an OESD on 4-6 boards. Use it selectively in late opens and big-blind defense, with stack depth and position doing much of the work.

It is not a default open from every seat.
Do not inflate the frequency simply because it is suited.
Position and effective depth support its draw realization.
Tournament ICM and fold equity can change the answer.
One-pair hands can be dominated.
Strong against

65s shares the Five but has the weaker kicker, making a dominated pair that can still pay 75s.
Weak against

A7sA7s shares the Seven with the better kicker, so 75s can make a costly second-best pair.
Flop classes

75s makes the 5-6-7-8-9 straight on this board. It is a made straight, not a draw.

75s has 4-5-6-7, so a 3 or 8 completes a straight.

The single spade gives a backdoor flush draw, with no pair or immediate straight draw.
Strategic notes
- Usually fold: Continue only when position, price, and effective depth justify the call.
- Its one-gap structure helps on specific boards, not on every low flop.
- Value made straights and strong draws: These are the hands that can support larger pots.
- Keep one pair in perspective: A pair of sevens or fives is often a bluff-catcher against a strong range.
- Use backdoors selectively: A backdoor straight or flush draw can support a delayed bluff when ranges and position make it credible.
