Ten-Six Offsuit
T6o is a weak offsuit hand. The Ten gives some top-pair value, but the Six kicker is easily dominated. Fold to a raise in almost every position. Only check the big blind when the flop is free and the board gives a real pair or a direct draw.

T6o is too weak for a standard open, even from late position at normal depth.
It has no flush potential and too little equity when called.
Out of position, the weak kicker makes one-pair hands hard to value.
A short stack does not turn this dominated hand into a sound shove automatically.
Better Tens and Sixes leave T6o with few clean outs.
Strong against
96o shares the Six but has the weaker kicker, making a dominated pair that can still pay T6o.
Weak against
AToATo shares the Ten with the better kicker, so T6o can make a costly second-best pair.
Flop classes
On T♦ 7♣ 2♠, a small pot is preferable because the Six kicker loses to most made Tens.
On 9♣ 8♦ 7♠, T6o needs a Ten for the 6-7-8-9-T straight.
On A♥ K♣ 3♦, fold to a continuation bet because T6o has no pair or straight draw.
Strategic notes
- Fold: T6o should fold to every standard 3-bet.
- Do not defend for implied odds: This offsuit holding cannot make a flush and rarely makes a strong draw.
- Treat a Ten as a fragile top pair: Better Tens and overpairs can value-bet against it.
- Continue with a direct draw: On a connected flop near T6o, it can have a gutshot to a nine-high straight.
- Give up without equity: A bare Six pair has little value against a bet from a tight range.
