Strategic notes

Versus 3-bets
  • Fold: Q3o is not a profitable standard continue against a 3-bet.
  • Fold: Its weak kicker and lack of suited equity leave too few favorable runouts.
Post-flop playability
  • Keep Queen-high cheap: Check back missed flops in position when it can beat unpaired hands. Avoid multi-street bluffs without a credible blocker.
  • Treat top pair as bluff-catcher strength: Q3o can call a small bet against a wide range, but large turn and river bets usually represent better Qx or two pair.
  • Let position and depth guide risk: Shallow stacks reduce the penalty of a weak top pair. Deep, out-of-position pots need a much tighter threshold.
