King-Three Offsuit
K3o is a weak, disconnected King-high hand. It has no flush potential, almost no straight connectivity, and is dominated by every better Kx hand when both players pair the King. Fold it from early and middle position and against most opens. Defend only from the Big Blind at a favourable price, or use a chart-specific short-stack shove when the position and depth call for it.

K3o is not a standard open at 20bb or 100bb.
The King blocker does not repair the poor equity when called.
Closing the action and receiving a strong price can justify a cautious defence.
Do not open-jam K3o at ordinary depths.
Better Kings dominate the top-pair route, while low pairs rarely hold up.
Strong against
K2o shares the King but has the weaker kicker, making a dominated pair that can still pay K3o.
Weak against
AKoAKo shares the King with the better kicker, so K3o can make a costly second-best pair.
Flop classes
On K♣ 8♦ 2♥, K3o has top pair with a weak kicker. Check more often than you bet for value.
On 9♣ 7♦ 3♥, K3o has bottom pair. Call only versus a small, bluff-heavy bet, fold to strong pressure.
On Q♠ 8♦ 4♣, K3o has King-high and can sometimes reach showdown, but it is not a good bluff without a range reason.
On 9♣ 8♦ 7♥, K3o has no pair and no straight draw. Check-fold.
Strategic notes
- Fold to a 3-bet. K3o is usually too weak even to open and performs worse against a stronger, narrower range.
- Avoid calling out of position for the chance to hit a King. The top pair is often second best and K3o has no flush draw.
- Check and fold most missed flops. K3o has no flush potential and only limited backdoor straight routes.
- Treat a King pair as a bluff catcher or a small-pot hand. Better Kx hands dominate it.
- A pair of threes can beat bluffs, but it rarely wants several streets of value against a continuing range.
