K6o is a marginal offsuit king whose action changes sharply with position and depth. It can be a frequent Button open at deeper stacks, while earlier seats mostly fold and the Small Blind can mix limp and open.

Open when:Position-specific branches, especially Button at depth

Earlier seats mostly fold, while short stacks and the Small Blind can use different open, limp, or shove frequencies.

3bet when:Almost never

The king is a useful blocker, but K6o has poor equity when called and no suited backup.

Call when:Defending the Big Blind versus a Small Blind open

The price can justify a call around 20bb, especially when you close the action. Do not call from other positions without a very unusual price.

Jam when:A short-stack chart includes it

At deeper stacks, an open-jam is not appropriate. the Button or Small Blind.

Fold when:Facing a standard open or any 3-bet

Better Kx dominates the top-pair outcomes, while the six rarely makes a useful second pair.

Flop classes

Vulnerable top pair

On K♠ 8♦ 2♣, bet small or check. Worse Kx is scarce, and a large pot exposes the kicker problem.

Weak pair

On J♥ 9♣ 6♦, the pair of sixes is behind many continues. Check and fold to a normal bet unless the price is unusually good.

King high with no pair

On Q♠ 7♦ 4♥, K6o has showdown value but no direct draw. Check rather than turn it into a thin bluff.

Strategic notes

Versus 3-bets

Fold to a 3-bet from every position. Even after a Big Blind defend, this offsuit holding has too little equity against the raising range.
Do not continue just because a king is blocked. When K6o makes top pair, the opponent can still hold KQ, KJ, KT or AK.

Post-flop playability

On a king-high flop, check often and use one pair mainly as a bluff-catcher. The six kicker does not support three streets of value.
K6o has no immediate straight draw on the examples below. Without a pair or a concrete backdoor plan, check-fold to meaningful pressure.
Position matters: in position, a free card or cheap showdown is easier to obtain. Out of position, fold more often after a bet.
