Jack-Four Suited

J4s has useful flush potential, but its 4 kicker makes a Jack pair fragile against better Jx. It is a selective late-position or big blind hand, not a universal defend. Price, position, and effective stack matter more than the suited label alone.

J♦ gives top pair while 8♠ and 3♠ add two board cards to the two spades in J4s. The four-card flush draw can continue, but the 4 kicker makes a large one-pair pot uncomfortable when it misses.

Four-high connected

Bottom pair has limited value on a coordinated board. Continue with a good price or additional backdoor equity.

Complete miss

Check and fold to pressure without a flush draw or a clear backdoor plan.

Call selectively or fold: The price and effective stack must make the flush route worthwhile.
Keep this line limited to the stated positions and depths: Better Jx, higher flush draws, and stronger connected hands perform better against 3-bet ranges.
