K7o is a fold from early and middle position. It can defend the Big Blind against a wide late open, but a king-high flop still creates a clear domination risk.

Open when:Late position with a short stack and chart support

A Button or Small Blind steal can use fold equity. It is not an early-position open.

3bet when:Almost never

The king blocks some strong Kx, but K7o has little equity when called.

Call when:Defending the Big Blind

Position, pot odds and stack depth matter. Fold more often against a tight open or from out of position. a wide Button or Small Blind open.

Jam when:A 10-15bb late-position chart includes it

Do not jam it as a deep-stack raise.

Fold when:Facing an early open, a 3-bet or a large squeeze

Better kings dominate the top-pair result and K7o has limited straight connectivity.

K6o shares the King but has the weaker kicker, making a dominated pair that can still pay K7o.

Weak against

AKo
AKo shares the King with the better kicker, so K7o can make a costly second-best pair.

Flop classes

Top pair on a paired board

On K♠ 7♥ 4♣, K7o makes top two pair. Value bet, but slow down if the board pairs the king or a strong draw completes.

Seven-high pair

On 7♦ 5♣ 2♥, the pair of sevens is vulnerable to overpairs and better sevens. Check more often.

Low connected board

On 6♠ 5♦ 4♣, K7o has no pair and only a backdoor straight route. Check-fold against pressure.

Strategic notes

Versus 3-bets

Fold to standard 3-bets. The blocker is not enough to offset weak equity and poor playability.
After a Big Blind call, do not defend a 3-bet with top-pair optimism. A stronger Kx is a common value hand.

Post-flop playability

On king-high boards, keep the pot controlled. Bet small for thin value only against a range that contains worse Kx and weaker pairs.
This offsuit holding cannot make a four-card flush draw with two hole cards. On connected boards, continue only with a real pair or a direct straight draw.
In position, checking back a marginal pair preserves showdown value. Out of position, a single bet from the opener should make you fold more often.
